Jackson Pollock (Ed Harris) was a world famous expressionist painter and perfected the art of “drip painting”. This film portrays his chaotic life both inside and outside of his art studio. He begins his career living in a small, cramped New York City apartment, where he drinks copious amounts of alcohol and fails to do much work. Soon he meets Lee Krasner (Marcia Gay Harden) who sobers him up and revives his creativity. The two begin dating and eventually live together in the Hamptons, where Pollock’s career begins to blossom. Pollock achieves unprecedented success when he is featured in Life magazine, but he also relapses into his alcoholic ways as a means to escape his newly found fame.
